What is a Guardian Home?
A Guardian Home is a family that raises one of our future moms or dads as their own. Your dog lives with you full time and becomes part of your family. When it’s time for breeding, they come back to us briefly—then return to you to enjoy life at home. After their breeding journey, they’re officially and fully yours.
It’s a beautiful way to love a puppy while helping us raise litters responsibly, without kennels or crowding.

How the Guardian Program Works – Step by Step
1. Bring Home a Puppy
We place one of our future moms or dads with your family to raise in your home as your own.
2. Raise Them Like Family
You provide the love, structure, vet care, nutrition, and everyday joy every dog deserves.
3. Breeding Begins Around 1.5–2 Years Old
For females, this usually happens after the second or third heat. For males, once they’re mature. We handle all the health testing and coordination.
4. Short Visits for Breeding and Puppies
Females return to us briefly for breeding (about a week), and again for whelping and raising puppies (typically 7–8 weeks). Males visit us occasionally for short breeding appointments.
5. Retired, Spayed or Neutered, and Fully Yours
After completing their breeding journey, we cover the cost to spay or neuter—and your dog remains with you for life.
Is This a Good Fit For You?
When you become a Guardian Family, you’re not just opening your home — you’re joining ours. This isn’t just about placing a puppy — it’s about building a relationship. As a Guardian Family, you play an important role in raising one of our future moms or dads in a home full of love.
To make sure it’s a great fit for everyone involved, here’s what we ask for:
- You live within 2 hours of Olympia, WA
- You’re comfortable with the dog being away for short periods during breeding and puppy-raising
- You don’t plan to move outside the area for the next 2–3 years
- You’re responsive to communication and easy to reach
- You’ll notify us right away when a female shows signs of heat
- You have a fenced yard or will keep the dog leashed outside
- You have no unfixed pets in the home during the contract period
- You’re willing to follow our nutrition and care recommendations
- You’ll provide lifelong, breed-appropriate care, including:
– Regular grooming (every 6–8 weeks)
– Socialization, enrichment, and exercise
– Routine vet visits and preventative care (flea, tick, heartworm, vaccines)
